GEOGRAPHY
The world famous Spice Island of Grenada
is a small nation which consists of three islands: Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique. Grenada is the largest of the three, with a width of twelve miles (18 km) and a length of twenty-one miles (34 km). Its 133 sq. miles (440 sq. km.) are mountainous, volcanic terrain, reaching heights of over 2,750 feet atop Mount St. Catherine.

LANGUAGE
English is the official language in Grenada. English is spoken everywhere throughout the island.

CURRENCY
The national currency is the Eastern Caribbean (EC) Currency. Shopkeepers frequently accept American currency. For day-to-day touring and tipping, however, visitors should carry an adequate supply of EC.

TRAVEL TIPS
Electricity is 220 volts and wall outlets take standard, two/three-pin European plugs. Summer daytime temperatures are generally very hot. Be sure to bring proper sun protection. A jacket or sweater is recommended for cool evenings in the standard winter months.
